I want to provide an update about my friend who was in the same boat. By the way I told her to sign up here and share her details but she's too busy, oh well 😐
Anyway she got her PR and did a lot of research on what she can do to show her intention is to live outside of Quebec. A lot of the stuff here helped her. Special thanks to @Farhad-n
She put everything she collected into these points below. I'm pasting her notes hoping it'll help someone else:
1- Write a clear letter of explanation stating your intention to reside outside Quebec. In this letter:
- Explicitly state that you intend to live and work in a specific province or city outside of Quebec.
- Explain your reasons for wanting to move there (e.g. job opportunities, family connections, etc.).
- Outline any concrete steps you've already taken to prepare for the move.
2- Provide evidence of job searching or employment offers outside Quebec:
- Include copies of job applications you've submitted.
- Attach any interview invitations or job offers you've received.
- Show correspondence with potential employers outside Quebec.
3- Demonstrate connections to other provinces:
- Provide lease agreements or property purchases outside Quebec, if applicable.
- Show proof of family or friends living in other provinces.
- Include evidence of visits to other provinces (e.g. travel receipts).
4- Submit a sworn declaration (preferably notarized) of your intent to reside outside Quebec.
5- If currently in Quebec, explain it's a temporary situation:
- Clarify that your current residence in Quebec is due to temporary work/study.
- Emphasize that you plan to leave once your PR is approved.
6- Research and mention specific details about your intended destination:
- Include information about your chosen area's housing, schools, or community resources.
This shows you've seriously considered living there.
7- Provide any documentation of preparations for the move:
- Moving company quotes
- School enrollment inquiries for children
- Community organization memberships in the new area
Remember guys, be honest and provide as much supporting documentation as possible to strengthen your case.
