Police Certificate Question

Hello everyone,

I am applying for provincial nomination through the BC PNP but I had a question regarding the police verification.

I have an Vietnamese passport and have been living in Canada for 7 years now and never been back to Vietnam. Do I need a Vietnamese and Canadian police clearance certificate for my PR application?

I think it depends on the program but typically if you've lived somewhere else besides Canada for more than six months then you will need to get a police clearance certificate as part of your immigration application. Even if the PNP program doesn't want it now, you will need to have to later for the federal section of your PR application.

Generally, you will need to show that you have no criminal record to get PR. That means you have to bring the police clearance certificates from all tho countries that you have previously lived in.
